The report considers the regularities of functioning, coexistence of different languages in one social-communicative system, and investigates the specifics of situation in foreign languages in Mongolia. During the analysis of the language situation in modern Mongolia, special attention is paid to the Russian language that is one of the most common and popular foreign languages in Mongolia, as well as the dynamics of its functioning, position of Russian language in Mongolia after the 1990s and its development trends at the present stage in Mongolia.
