CHINESE LANGUAGE IN CHINA AND TAIWAN: PARTICULAR FEATURES OF LEXICAL SYSTEM AND ITS LEARNING PROBLEMS

The article deals with the particular features of the lexical system of the Chinese language in mainland China and Taiwan. It proposes a classification of lexical differences in these territories and identifies the main historical, geopolitical and sociocultural causes of their occurrence. The paper also raises some topical issues of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Russia.
