The article discusses aspects of language planning and language forecasting from the point of view of their functioning in sociolinguistic studies as elements of sociolinguistic conceptual apparatus. There have been studied the terms and phenomena that accompany language planning. Both the methods used and the agencies involved in these processes are analyzed.
