EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS: MEMOIRS AND ORAL HISTORY OF THE “CULTURAL REVOLUTION” IN HULUN-BUIR

The article studies the events of the “Cultural Revolution” in the Hulun-Buir region of Inner Mongolia with the help of memoirs and oral eyewitness accounts. The author notes the period from 1966 to 1969 as a critical phase of the ideological and political campaign. The study reveals that the “Cultural Revolution” hit representatives of the Buddhist clergy and local governments, members of the Hulun-Buir branch of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Inner Mongolia.
