In this article, the author studied the specific features of Mongolian modern poetries about Gobi by Yavuukhulan.B and Lkhagvasuren.B. Yavuukhulan.B, a state award laureate poet, was born in Javkhlant soum, Zavkhan province in 1929. Yavuukhulan.B was a well-known poet of the world. Because his works of poetry have been published in 70 languages. He was very intelligent person and people called him “Oriental great poet”. Mongolian scholars and researchers consider that Yavuukhulan was an innovator of the second generation of Mongolian modern poetry. He enriched the heritage of Mongolian poetries by his lyrical poetry which have new imagery on traditional thinking and life of Mongolians. Lkhagvasuren.B, a state award laureate poet, was born Unguul soum, Tuv province, in 1944. He has written many poetries and short stories. His first book was published in 1980. Researchers and critics consider that Lkhagvasuren.B, is an innovator of the third generation of Mongolian modern poetry, because his poems display a specific imagination in the proportion of word meaning and a technique of his writing has changed the writing standard. He renewed Mongolian poetry by his new imaginary and expressions that were skillfully used the forms of Indian and Tibetan traditional thought, especially the “Utpreksa” type. The main idea in two Gobi is about peaceful and happy life of Gobi people, beautiful nature and specific features of Gobis, hospitable people, Mongolian culture, tradition and custom. These imaginaries were shown in association with present, past and future tenses. In my opinion, imaginaries of two Gobis are similar. They can be divided into 5 main groups: the nature of Gobi; the women of Gobi; the mirage of Gobi; the sand-dune of Gobi; the camels of Gobi. However, methods of imaginary are completely different. It is related to author’s talent, feature, characteristic and socio-culture aspect, word choice, sentence structure and images. In conclusion, this article studies meanings and methods of imagination on various categories which are as follows: metaphora, simile, repetition, symbolism, idiomatic words, phrases etc. We tried to make an explanation on the symbolic meaning of features and forms of the poetry from the point of traditional view.
