Аннотация. Статья посвящена переписке Георгия Никитича Румянцева (1903–1966) и Нины Павловны Шастиной (1898–1980). Целью статьи является проведение анализа материалов переписки востоковедов для выявления спектра научных идей, зафиксированных в эпистолярном диалоге, и обсуж-даемых вопросов, раскрывающихся особенности их научного сотрудничества. Эпистолярные материалы, хранящиеся в личном архивном фонде Г. Н. Румянцева (№ 17) в собрании Центра восточной рукописи и ксилографов Института монголоведения, буддологии и тибетологии СО РАН, выражают взаимодействие двух ученых-монголоведов, и содержат в себе информацию о событиях и настроениях того времени. Корреспондентский диалог, рассматриваемый в исследовании, представляет значительный интерес в плане изучения жизни и научного творчества Г. Н. Румянцева и Н. П. Шастиной, а также позволяет проследить их взаимоотношения с коллегами.

Annotation. This study focuses on the correspondence between two scholars, Georgy Nikitich Rumyantsev (1903–1966) and Nina Pavlovna Shastina (1898–1980), examining it as a holistic, multilayered historical source. The article aims to examine the content of the letters and analyze the correspondence between the orientalists to identify and analyze the range of scholarly ideas captured in the epistolary dialogue and the issues discussed, revealing the specifics of their scholarly collaboration. The epistolary materials, housed in the personal archival collection of G. N. Rumyantsev (No. 17) in the collection of the Center of Oriental Manuscripts and Xylographs of the Institute for Mongolian, Buddhists, reflect the interaction between the two scholars of Mongolian studies and contain information about the events and sentiments of that time. The correspondent dialogue examined in the study is of considerable interest in terms of studying the lives and scientific work of G. N. Rumyantsev and N. P. Shastina, and also allows us to trace their relationships with colleagues.
