Аннотация. Целью исследования является анализ основных трудов по изучению монгольской летописи XIII в. «Сокровенного сказания монголов». Для достижения цели автор опирался на методы исторической науки: источниковедческий, сравнительно-исторический. Анализ различных гипотез, концепций и противоречивых аргументов исследователей «Сокровенного сказания монголов» остается важной составляющей изучения данного памятника. Выводы новых исследований по вопросам датировки, авторства «Сокровенного сказания» основаны на предположениях, сформулированных ранее учеными монголоведами. Представление о нормативно-регулятивной системе средневековых монголов может быть расширено, углублено в результате правового анализа политико-правовых понятий, изложенных в «Сокровенном сказании монголов».
THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE MONGOLS: HISTORIOGRAPHY OF DATING AND AUTHORSHIP OF THE 13TH-CENTURY MONGOL EPIC CHRONICLE

Annotation. This article provides a historiographical overview of current issues in the study of The Secret History of the Mongols. The aim of the article is to analyze the main works on the characteristics of the 13th-century Mongol chronicle. To achieve this goal, the author relied on historical methods: source studies and comparative history. The analysis of various hypotheses, concepts, and contradictory arguments of researchers of the Secret History of the Mongols remains an important component of the study of this monument. Currently, the Secret History of the Mongols is the subject of research not only by historians and philologists, but also by legal scholars who are attempting to conduct a legal analysis of the monument’s content. In order to draw accurate and logically consistent conclusions on the study of topical issues related to this monument, including a well-founded interpretation of political and legal concepts, it is important to know the language and regulatory system of the medieval Mongols. The conclusions of new studies on the dating and authorship of the Secret History are based on assumptions previously formulated by scholars in Mongolian studies. Information about the normative and regulatory system of the medieval Mongols can be expanded and deepened as a result of a legal analysis of the political and legal concepts set forth in The Secret History of the Mongols. A promising direction is the analysis of the categories of the сountry, government, law, authorities, etc., which in turn will contribute to clarifying the main characteristics of the monument under the study.
